About Salt + Sass
Salt + Sass is a quarterly event series that began in 2015 at SoundCloud HQ in Berlin.
We host conversations with women who work in various professions within the music industry. These conversations are moderated by a journalist in front of an audience.
Our vision is to connect, celebrate & bring visibility to women working in the music industry.
Kat has worked in music for over 10 years. She moved to Berlin in 2012, and following a short stop at Resident Advisor, started working at SoundCloud later that year, where she held various roles until summer 2017. She is now a freelance Product Management Consultant and is the founder of Salt + Sass, a non profit that supports women in the music industry.
After jumping on tour vans to do interviews with local Bay Area bands in high school, Elissa started her first official gig in music writing—an internship at College Music Journal—in 2011. Since then she has worked, freelanced and/or interned at Fader, XLR8R, Spin, Billboard, VICE and Red Bull Music Academy. She is currently the Editor in Chief at Telekom Electronic Beats and a DJ and presenter on Cashmere Radio in Berlin.
Christine has worked in music her entire adult life, and it's taken her from Creative Vibes in Sydney, to BM Soho and Juno Download in London, to Beatport and zero" in Berlin. She began writing for Australian street press magazines in the early 2000s, and currently works full-time as a freelance music journalist and content/curation specialist. Her words, work and voice can be found on Pitchfork, Resident Advisor, Red Bull Music Academy, Boiler Room, Ableton, Google Play, Berlin Community Radio and Electronic Beats.
